Jill Peterson was born in Bakersfield, California on March 6, 1958 to John & Janet (Barclay) Peterson. She attended local schools and was and alumni of Maple School and Shafter High School graduate class of 1976. Jill worked in the medical field as a paramedic for 20 years. She was a very accomplished paramedic and was named paramedic of the year in 2004. She was the founder and president of the Golden Empire Bassett Hound Rescue. She was kind, loving, generous and always there to help others. She loved her family and was a good friend to others. Jill passed away peacefully with her family and friends at her side on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:30 am in Bakersfield, California. She is survived by her parents John and Janet Peterson; brother Scott Peterson; sister-in-law, Kim Peterson; nieces Whitney Van Tassell and Taylor Samson; nephews Blake Sampson, John Van Tassell and Tanner Sampson; and great niece, Emma Van Tassell. Funeral service for Jill will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wasco, CA on Friday June 6, 2014 at 11am. Viewing in the Relief Society Room preceding the Funeral Service at 10am.
