Jessie Mae Cole was born January 9, 1933 in Allen, OK to parents Jess and Margie (Jones) Elmore. When she was still a young woman, the family made their way to California and eventually to the town of Shafter. Jessie graduated from Shafter High in 1952 and then married Doyle Cole in November of 1954. She worked as a legal aid in the medical industry for most of her life. Jessie was a religious woman and actively involved at Valley Bible Church here in Shafter. Her time was filled with family and she loved being close to her grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle; and her son, Greg Cole. She is survived by her grandchildren, Dustin Cole and wife Melissa, Danielle Cole, Daneal Cole and Desiree Cole; one daughter-in-law, Christine Cole. Jessie passed away at her residence on February 8, 2016, she was 83. A viewing was held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 11am-1pm. A graveside committal was conducted at Shafter Memorial Park at 2pm, followed by a memorial service at Valley Bible Church of Shafter at 3pm; Pastor Mike Polley officiated.
