Jerry Clinton Taylor passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, surrounded by his family who loves him and will carry him in their hearts forever; born on November 5, 1942 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Annie Jean (Kelton) and Earnest Clinton Taylor. He first met his beautiful then girlfriend, Linda Sue (Smith) at Nick's Drive Inn, they married in Bakersfield in 1962; together they had three children. He worked for the potato packing sheds and cotton gins before being employed with the City of Shafter as a refuge operator where he retired from in 2005 with 37 years of service. Some of the favorite events Jerry looked forward to was to travel to the local beaches in his travel trailer; going out to his favorite (secret) fishing spots, quail and dove hunting. The most significant step in life was giving his heart to the Lord in 2009; he was on fire for the Lord and wanted everyone to know it. Jerry was a great and loving grandpa and papa, the time he spent with his grand and great grand children was genuine; he leaves wonderful memories with the family. Jerry C. Taylor is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue Taylor, of 49 years; children William Scott (April Ann) Taylor, Jason Clinton Taylor, Cheryl Annette Mason; sisters Judith Ann Kirkpatrick and Linda Sue Taylor; former daughter-in-law Shannon Taylor; 8 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren; numerous extended family members and many long time acquaintances. A graveside service will be, officiated by Pastor Tommy Baker of Home Fellowship Church-Shafter, for Jerry Clinton Taylor, on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Shafter Memorial Park.
