Jerry Brown, a 32-year resident of Yucca Valley, died Feb. 24, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. He was born in North Carolina and attended high school in San Juan Capistrano, where he met and married his wife, Vicki. He moved his family to Yucca Valley in 1976 and worked for several years at Marshall Nissan and at Yucca Valley Ford. He then went to work at the Hi-Desert Water District, where he retired in 2005 after 22 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vicki, two children and three grandchildren. He was an avid ham radio operator for 35 years, making friends all over the world. Always quiet and unassuming, he adored his wife, his dogs and his home. His family offered heartfelt thanks to the many friends who were helpful and thoughtful during his illness and during this difficult time. At his request, no services will be held.
