JD was born in Paden, Oklahoma on April 25, 1924 to parents, Isam and Bessie (Jones) Holland. JD came to Bakersfield in his mid twenties and married his loving wife Mable Geraldine in Las Vegas. JD started working at the young age of 9 after his father passed away. His whole life hard working would define how he lived. He is remembered as a very giving man who loved spending time with his family. He also loved traveling back east to help other family members on their ranches. JD loved talking and staying in touch with all of his family and friends. He was a work hard-play hard man that was always full of life. JD is preceded in death by his wife, Mable Geraldene; his parents, Isam and Bessie, as well as, his step father, ID Loyd. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Mae, Bill, LeRoy, and Baby Floyd. He is survived by his daughter Rhonda and husband Kenny Alvarado; grandchildren, Micah and her husband Benjamin Saenz, Jacob Alvarado and Jared Alvarado; great-granddaughter, Claire Geraldine Saenz; one brother, Loyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for JD will be held at New Life Church of God, in Lamont, on July 16, 2008 from 9:00-11:00am with a funeral service starting at 11:00am, pastor Graham Bell will officiate and interment will be private.
