Javier Del Toro Martinez was born May 16, 1949 in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico, one of eight children born to Maria Guadalupe (Martinez) and Jose Del Toro. The family moved to San Fernando, California and Javier came to Shafter in 1987. Javier worked as an upholsterer for over 38 years and was the owner/operator of El Toro Seat Covers since 1992. Javier was always at the shop and enjoyed his work. At home he was the life of the party, dancing and having fun with family and friends. The family celebrated his 61st Birthday and will always remember the good times they had with their Dad. Javier is survived by his wife of 34 years, Socorro; sons, Eric Madrigal, Daniel Del Toro, Adam Del Toro; daughters, Imelda, Barbara, Maria Guadalupe, Rosa and Patricia; brothers, Sergio and Salvador; sisters, Emma, Maria De Jesus, Juana; and many loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rafael and Eduardo. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 26, at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home for Javier Del Toro Martinez, age 63, of Shafter who passed away July 18, 2012 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said Friday, July 27, at 10am at St. Therese's Church. Interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
