Janet Stassi was born on June 9, 1948, to Jack and Arwanda Quarry in Martinez, California, and returned home to the Lord on January 19, 2025, in Bakersfield, California.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend to many, and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Janet was one of eight children in a spirited and accomplished family. She was very proud of the boxing heritage of her brothers and continued her interest in the sport that was so close to her home and heart, to the end.

She is pre-deceased by her parents as well as four siblings, Jimmy, Jerry, Mike, and Brenda, among other cherished family members, many of whom are resting here alongside her.

Janet loved deeply and was fiercely protective of those that she loved the most. She always had a heart for the underdog as well as a keen ability to find humor in even the unlikeliest of places sometimes. She loved to laugh! and her laugh was hearty and infectious – you could not help to share a chuckle and a smile with her – even when unexpected.

Janet is at peace now and is no longer weighed down by pain - be it, physical, mental, or emotional. Her feet will always be warm and her heart full. She is whole and healthy in the arms of Christ and reunited with loved ones. Selfishly, I'd like to think her and Vic have had an opportunity to share a memory and laugh – but I know there are many others to whom she will run to and who will embrace her warmly with open arms and a smile. I believe she will find grace there.

Today, January 30, 2025, we will respect and honor Janet as she is placed to rest next to her beloved sister, Brenda, and her dad, Jack, whom she loved and respected very much.

This is not goodbye; this is so long. We'll see you on the other side Mom, and it will be beautiful.
