Jane Lace Reich Secretary, 97 Jane Lace Reich, a 59 year resident of Yucca Valley, died and went to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 18, 2010. She was 97 years old. The daughter of Jacob and Alice Steinman, she was born and raised in Oakland, California. As a young women Jane moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked at Fox Studios. In 1951 she moved to Yucca Valley, California with her husband Bill Lace where she raised her son James Lace. In 1969 she moved back to Los Angeles where she became the executive secretary for Equitable Life Assurance Society. In retirement she returned to Yucca Valley. Jane was an active participant in the growth of Yucca Valley. She helped establish the first park in the city. She was also the original coordinator for the Park & Recreation Senior Citizens Program. She enjoyed traveling extensively during her retirement years. She is survived by her son James W. Lace of Fullerton, California; daughter-in-law Martha E. Lace of Fullerton, California; granddaughter Andrea M. Lace of Orange, California; and granddaughter Kristina L. Lace of Fullerton, California. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends will be deeply missed. A Memorial Mass Service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Valley Catholic Church in Yucca Valley. Father Thomas Hall is scheduled to officiate. Funeral services were arranged with and coordinated by Wiefels Mortuary in Yucca Valley.
