Jane Vivian (Ingalls) McClain passed away peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the age of 98 in Bakersfield. She is survived by her two sons Charles McClain and Carl McClain, daughters-in-law Gay Parker and Margie McClain, her grandchildren Luke McClain, Dana Parker-McClain, Ian McClain and Marlena McClain, and many great grandchildren. Jane is reunited with her father Carl Ingalls, mother Ruth (Gamble) Ingalls, her beloved sister Marilyn (Ingalls) Smith and husband Robert Blythe McClain. Born January 30, 1918 in Bakersfield, she graduated from Kern County High School and attended UCLA. Jane and Robert married September 1, 1939 in Bakersfield and resided in Shafter where they raised their sons. Jane volunteered at Mercy Hospital for over fifty years, and also as a reading tutor at Richland Elementary School. Jane loved swimming, reading, crossword puzzles, history, fashion, and travel.
