James Richard Wright was born September 10, 1963 in Wasco, Ca. Jim attended local schools and graduated from Wasco High in 1981; while in high school, he enjoyed participating in various drama presentations, as well as, being involved with the tennis team all 4 years. In his senior year, the 1980-1981 tennis team was undefeated as they claimed the championship of the SSL. Jim then went on to attend CSUB and started working in the retail clothing industry. He worked for Nelson's clothing in Wasco, and then all over the valley, for Gottschalks, including locations in Bakersfield, Fresno, Palmdale and Modesto. Jim finished his career as a store manager at Stein Mart Department Store in Granada Hills. Jim was a good friend to everyone, and he was well liked by his employees. He was a caring and sensitive man with a good heart, and always willing to give to others; Jim often donated his time and efforts to cancer fundraisers. His family will always remember him at his happiest when he was able to spend time with his family at the beach. We will love and cherish his memory forever. Jim is survived by his grandfather, Richard Bray; parents, Chuck and Jan Wright; his children, Ashley Wright and Alex Wright; his granddaughter, Victoria Alvarez; siblings, Chad Wright and wife Lisa, Kristy and husband Phil Burns, and Karen Cathey; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and his good friend, Jose Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Katherine Tramell, Lewis and Gladys Wright, and Lucy Bray. A memorial service will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 beginning at 11:00am. Pastor Johnny Ross of Westside Family Fellowship will officiate the service and private inurnment will take place at Wasco Memorial Park.
