IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Roy
Waldron , Jr.
December 22, 1942 – October 18, 2024
James Roy Waldron Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as James, passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on December 22, 1942, in Minco, Ok. and he departed this life peacefully in Bakersfield CA due to congestive heart failure. James's life was marked by devotion to his family, a steadfast work ethic, and a love for simple pleasures.
James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lauretta Waldron, who has been his partner in every aspect of life's journey. Together, they raised three wonderful children, a son Daniel "Danny" James Waldron who passed away at the age of 8, a daughter Shelly Waldron Wood, and a son, Timothy Waldron. He took great joy in being a grandfather to Sarah Watson and Nathaniel Waldron, and he was blessed to meet and cherish his great-granddaughter, Bristol Barham. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he instilled in them values of love, hard work, and integrity. James's son-in-law, Michael Wood, also held a special place in his heart, as a trusted family member and friend.
After completing his high school education, James dedicated 32 years to Shell Oil/Aera Energy, where his commitment and diligence were evident to all who worked alongside him. His colleagues respected him for his reliability and his straightforward approach to problem-solving. His association with the company was not just a job but a significant part of his identity and he took pride in his contributions to the industry.
Outside of work, James loved to indulge in his leisure time, often found with his eyes fixed on the television screen, watching the news. He believed in staying informed and was always ready to engage in a thoughtful conversation about current events. His interest in the world around him was a testament to his ever-curious nature.
James's life was a portrait of the everyday American hero. He lived without pretense, loved without condition, and worked with a purpose. His presence was a source of strength and comfort to his family, who will miss him profoundly. Yet, they take solace in the memories of his unwavering support, his dry wit, and the quiet moments of joy they shared.
The legacy of James Roy Waldron Jr. is one of enduring love and the honor of a life well-lived. He leaves behind a family that will continue to honor his memory by living out the lessons he taught through his example. His was a life that truly made a difference in the hearts and lives of those he touched.
As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, James's family will carry forward his spirit of dedication, his commitment to family, and his love for the simple joys of life. They will forever cherish the time they had with him and will continue to feel his influence in their lives every day.
James Roy Waldron Jr. will be deeply missed, but his story will be told with smiles and warmth, a narrative of a man who stood as the embodiment of love, hard work, and integrity. His memory will be honored as a blessing, and his life celebrated as an example of a life truly well-lived.
