Called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Porterville, CA, at the age of 77. James was born in Arkansas on April 3, 1938. He was the beloved son of Forrest Jethro O'Neal and Clara Belle McDonald O'Neal. Forever remembered by sisters, Gracie O. Hensley (Bill), and Evelyn H. McCurry (Lloyd). Survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and all their children as well as other family and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Forest O'Neal; his mother, Clara O'Neal; his sisters, Carlene O'Neal, and Thelma H. Morris Frost (Lloyd; Derwood); and his brothers, Ancil L. O'Neal (Ines), and Aubrey C. O'Neal (Dovie). James served in the U.S. Navy. James was employed by Champion Home Builders for many years until his retirement. While there he received several awards/certificates recognizing him for his strong work ethics. Family and close friends often called him by nick names (Sonny, Jimmy). James especially loved and cherished his cats. He loved playing practical jokes. Now reunited with loved ones in Heaven, he will be forever remembered and missed by those who knew him here on Earth. A graveside service / celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015. Interment will be at Wasco Memorial Park where he will be amid family members who have gone before him. Wasco Memorial Park is located at 300 Leonard Ave, Wasco, CA 93280.
