Jack Ogle was born April 25, 1938 in Riverside, California one of three sons born to Sarah Katherine (Park) and Charles Ogle. The family moved to Shafter when Jack was in grade school and he attended Shafter elementary schools and graduated from Shafter High School with the Class of 1956. Jack and Linda Jean Stephens were married November 21, 1956 in Wasco, and made Shafter their home where they raised their three children. Jack began working for his father at Shafter Concrete Pipe and worked his way to President of the corporation, retiring in 1993. After retiring Jack and Linda moved to the mountain ranch and enjoyed traveling. Jack lived an active lifestyle going hunting and fishing in Alaska and riding dirt bikes as often as possible. He also enjoyed designing and building homes, completing 3 during his retirement years. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Linda in 2001; parents, brother, Donald; and grandson, Kevin Martin Ogle. He is survived by his children, R. Scott Ogle of Suisun City, Marty Ogle (Susie) of Shafter, Tassie Alvarado (Jose) of Madera; brother, Mike Ogle (Nancy) of North Dakota; 4 grandchildren, Lesley Harrison (Graham), Lauren Ogle, Corey Alvarado and BriAnne Abarquez; and a great grandson, Aiden. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 10, at 11am at Shafter Memorial Park for Jack L. Ogle, age 74, of Shafter who passed away December 5, 2012 in Bakersfield. Pastor Pat Coyle of the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church will officiate the service and interment will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
