Ivan Eugene Denney was born August 24, 1944 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to parents, George and Ollie Denney. At a young age he left school and started working on the farm with his brothers. Ivan married the love of his life, Frances (Ebling) Denney in Las Vegas on January 7, 1966; the couple were blessed with one son and four wonderful grandchildren. Ivan worked for Barling Brothers for 12 years, and moved on to S.A. Camp Pump Company where he worked his way up to supervisor in the 31 years with the company. In his off-time Ivan enjoyed fishing and tinkering in the garage. He also loved listening to music and relaxing with his family. Ivan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances; his son, Ivan Jr.; grandchildren, Kaylene, April, Hope and Sebastian; one brother, Leroy Denney; his sisters, Roberta Zumar, Elizabeth Rodgers and Brenda Dooling; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Ivan died at his residence in Shafter, surrounded by his family, on April 26, 2018. A graveside service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Saturday, May 5, 2018 beginning at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mission at Kern County, or John Haggie Ministries.
