Israel Gonzales,
lovingly known as “Choo-Choo,” was born on February 23, 1937, in Valentina, Texas. Over his 89 years, he was a pillar of love and strength for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 in Heilbronn, Germany, where he earned the Expert Badge in Rifle, the Marksman Badge in Pistol, and the National Defense Service Medal.
For 40 years, he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Emeteria, whom he called Tita. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, values, and tradition. Israel’s legacy lives on through his seven children: Delia, Cecilia, Anthony, Beatrice, Augustine, Nelly, and Louis. His love also grew with 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He held a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Israel will be deeply missed, but his light, his kindness, and his example will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace, forever surrounded by the eternal love of his family.
