Israel Garza was born in Weslaco, Texas on August 24, 1955 to Juana Garza Vasquez and Trinidad Garza. Israel made his way to California in the late 1970s and settled in Shafter, where he helped raise his four children. He was a wonderful and loving father who enjoyed making his children smile. Israel could always be counted on to fix any pains or sickness with his home remedies. He was very capable of repairing anything that was broken. Israel was never shy to share a funny joke or story with his friends and family; he enjoyed being the prankster and bring happiness to everyone. Israel passed away June 14, 2017 in Bakersfield, California. Israel is survived by his children Janet Garza ( Nathan Lewis), Israel Garza Jr. (Perla), Isaac Garza (Jessica Bergman) and Samantha Garza (Greg Davidson); grandchildren Israel Valdez, Esmeralda Valdez, Elias Valdez, Ezekiel Valdez, Carlos Martinez, Alexandra Garza, Israel Cruz Garza, Andrew Garza, Ethan Isaac Garza, Jozlyn Gianna Garza; his brothers and sisters; girlfriend Denise Pool. He is preceded in death by his parents Trinidad and Juana Garza; brother Trinidad Garza, Jr. Visitation will be held Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 4 to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
