Joanne was born and lived in the Detroit, Michigan area most of her childhood into her late teens to Daniel McCaig and Isadora Eliza Aube along with a sister Jeannette and brother Donald.

She met and married Richard Allen Palmer in June of 1949. In July of 1950 they started their family with the birth of their first child David William and four more in the next 5 years, Frederick Richard, Kathleen Mary, Robert Steven, and John Scott.

From Joanne's 5 children she was blessed with 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Joanne was a loving mother and always thought of her children first. She was a hard working person raising children and working when she could. She retired from the job she loved for 18 years as a shipping and receiving clerk for Russell Miller Labels in Gardena, California in the mid 80's.

She lived in Arizona for awhile after retirement but then came back to California and made home in Bakersfield until her passing.

Joanne was preceded in death by 3 of her children, Kathleen, Robert and John, along with 2 grandchildren Tracy and Joey and a great-grand child Sophia.
