IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Isaac Leal
Salcido
July 13, 1957 – February 3, 2025
Isaac Leal Salcido, age 67, of Bakersfield, CA, passed away on February 3, 2025, surrounded by his children. He was born on July 13, 1957, in Tijuana, MX. Isaac was known for his vibrant and infectious personality—always the loudest in the room, with a smile and a laugh that could light up any space. He was a dedicated educator and coach, deeply committed to his community and the development of young minds and athletes.
Isaac attended Arvin High School and earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Cal State University, Bakersfield. His career as an educator and coach left a significant impact, nurturing countless students and athletes throughout his tenure. Obtaining his U.S. citizenship was one of his greatest accomplishments.
A devout attendee of Valley Bible Fellowship, his faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with all he met. Isaac was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved officiating and coaching sports, showed unwavering support for the Dodgers, Lakers, and Raiders, and was a faithful attendee at the California State High School Cross Country and Track Meets each year. His passion extended to watching his grandchildren's extracurricular activities, and he was always proud of their accomplishments. We can't forget to mention—he was extremely proud of our 47th President, Donald J. Trump.
Isaac is survived by his children: Rocky and wife Amber Salcido, Niki and husband Chris Reyes, Jeremy and wife Casie Salcido, Dinah Salcido, and Deborah and husband Garrett Neatherlin; 14 grandchildren; his brothers Sam, Elias, Daniel, David, and Andres Jr.; his sisters Sarah and Dina Metcalf; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Maria Lucila Leal de Salcido, and his sisters Rebecca and Ruth Salcido.
A service to celebrate Isaac's life will be held at Valley Bible Fellowship NW, 6228 Coffee Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93308. His life was a testament to resilience, joy, and the love of family and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."
