IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irvin Bill
Rohrbach
May 11, 1916 – April 18, 2010
Irvin Bill Rohrbach was born May 10, 1916 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Katherine (Werre) and Jacob Rohrbach and went home to be with the Lord April 18, 2010 at his home in Porterville, living almost 94 years. Bill came to California during the Depression years and found work in Shafter working potatoes and other crops. Hard work and long hours lead to his eventually becoming supervisor of potato growing for EM. H. Mettler and Sons for 37 years. Later he worked a number of years for Vignola Farms until retiring, working up to 86 years of age. His wife, Alene passed away 13 years ago on March 5, 1998 after 57 years of marriage. Bill is survived by his sisters, Esther Long, Susie Hellbusch, and Juanita Hellbusch; children, LeRoy Rohrbach & wife Donna of Porterville, Joan Crow of Bakersfield and Ken Rohrbach & wife Shelia of Mandeville, Louisiana; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. Bill is loved by his family and set the pace for us all. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 22 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Kotrla of the Congregational Church of Shafter will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
