Irene M. Vono, was born in Webster City, Iowa on June 15, 1920 to Aurelio Morandi and Seconda Semprini and was the oldest of five children. Irene was married to Charles J. Vono for 39 years and together they raised their children their children, Cynthia, Nancy and Carl. Irene was a legal secretary for Attorney Gordon A. Drecsher for over 40 years. She retired in 1998 at the age of 78 years. She was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Irene graduated from high school in Lehigh, Iowa in 1937 and from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa in 1941. She moved with her husband to Wasco, California in 1952. Irene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed painting and won a sweepstakes ribbon for her scratchboard peacocks. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting and belonged to the "Happy Hookers". She enjoyed fellowship at the Wasco senior center. Irene was a member of Alpha Iota Sorority and St. John's Women's Society. She attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wasco, California. Irene is survived by her children, Cynthia Parks (Jim), Nancy Ayers and Carl Vono (Linda); grandchildren, Carrie Mosley, Jason Parks, Christopher Parks, Brandon Parks, Eric Vono, Nicholas Ayers, Sean Ayers, great – grandchildren, Garrett Mosley, Andrew Mosley, Sara Mosley and brother, Michael Morandi.
