Irene Billie Craun was born May 23, 1932 in Bakersfield, California to Ruby (Floyd) and John Sade. She was raised in Shafter and attended Rio Bravo Greeley Elementary School and graduated from Shafter High School with the Class of 1950. She went on to attend Bakersfield College and trained to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Irene worked at Shafter Convalescent Hospital for 20 years. Irene was an avid doll collector for over 40 years. Surviving family members include her sons, Daniel Craun of San Diego; John Craun and Benjamin Craun, both of Bakersfield; sisters, Rosie Derry of Shafter and Jean Gladden of Oregon; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchild. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 1pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Irene Billie Craun, age 79 of Bakersfield who passed away December 22, 2012 in Bakersfield. Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the service and interment will follow.
