Obituary

Ima Jo Anderson was born July 4, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Verna Mae Burke and Marion David Tankersley. Her family moved to Huntington Park, California around the year 1945 where she graduated from Huntington Park High. She worked at Hoyett's sandwich shop one summer where she met her husband of 36 years. Dwayne Anderson. She raised her four loving sons at the same time she worked for Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California for 32 years as a lab technician. Jo was a very talented artist with many painting hanging in many homes. She looked forward to taking her work to the Wasco Rose Festival each year. She had an eye for bringing out the beauty in everything she touched and her home reflected that. Her achievements were many but she would say her greatest was raising "her boys". Loved by all known as "Grandma Jo" by all her grand kids, she will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her mother Verna Mae Burke and father Marion David Tankersley, grandparents, Lloyd and Florence White, Lee and Myrtle Tankersley. Ima Jo is survived by her sons, Geary Anderson and wife Barbara of Wasco, Robert Anderson of Wasco, Chris Anderson and wife Cindy of Wasco, Mark Anderson and wife Gloria of Wasco. Brothers, Marion B. Tankersley and wife Mary of Sugarland, Texas, Jack D. Tankersley and wife Jane of Santa Clara, CA Ronald L. Tankersley and wife Kathy of Port Charlotte, FL., sister, Phyllis Wilkerson of Wasco.
