Heaven welcomed another beautiful angel, Ila Jean (Enterline) La Pierre on September 28, 2011. Ila was born December 7, 1938 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and her family moved to Shafter in 1955. Ila attended Shafter High School with the Class of 1956. Ila married Allen La Pierre November 19, 1989 and they moved to San Luis Obispo where she worked as a manicurist for 15 years. In 2004 they returned to Bakersfield. Ila enjoyed gardening, but loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Hearon who passed away in 1998; her parents and stepson, David Gene La Pierre. Ila is survived by her husband Allen La Pierre of Bakersfield; daughter, Lori Bowman of Atascadero; Step-son, Bob La Pierre; brothers, Bob Enterline and wife Patricia and Al Enterline and wife Catherine, all of Rosedale; sister, LaDona and husband Deral Rawlins of Shafter; grandchildren, Sarah-Elizabeth, Aimee, Brandis, Dallas and Justin; 6 great grandchildren; and her special friend, her Maltese, Shawnee. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 3, at 1pm at Peters Funeral Home for Ila Jean (Enterline) La Pierre, age 72, of Bakersfield who passed away September 28, 2011 in Bakersfield. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 2 from 4pm until 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
