Hugh Perryman was born May 22, 1925 to Ralph and Myrtle Perryman in Zion, Arkansas. His family moved to Wasco when he was 9 years old. Hugh attended Wasco Elementary and Thomas Jefferson Middle School and graduated in 1944 from Wasco High School where he played football and basketball. On October 25, 1946 Hugh married Betty JoAnn Maryfield and they enjoyed almost 62 years of life together. He began work for PG&E right after high school and served the company 40 years until his retirement 1984. Always the outdoorsman, Hugh began fishing and hunting with his father in childhood and continued those passions throughout his adult years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, backpacking in the Sierras, dirt biking and long road trips on his motorcycle. Hugh is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Becky Garber; grandchildren, TJ and Leanne Garber; sister-in-law Wanda Perryman and nieces and nephews Steve Perryman and his wife Candy, Candy Jenkins and her husband John, Greg Perryman and Jerry Knox and his wife Tanya. Hugh is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle, brother Klon and sister Bonnie Knox. Service will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2008 at 10am at Wasco Memorial Park for Hugh Perryman, age 83, who passed away June 12, 2008 in Bakersfield. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 15 from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel, Wasco.
