Horacio Prieto was born on August 6, 1937 in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Ezequiel and Concepcion (Carreon) Prieto. He and Narcisa Apodaca were married in December of 1961. Horacio was a cowboy for most of his life and when the family moved to California he began working at the Antelope Ranch in Cholame. Horacio enjoyed horse riding, shooting rifles and hunting. He was also a knife collector, and enjoyed sharpening and throwing his knives. Horacio Prieto is survived by his wife Narcisa; son, Pablo Prieto and wife Yolanda of Wasco; daughters, Bertha Prieto, Lidia Prieto and husband Francisco Raya of Wasco, Aida Racette and husband Rocky of Oakley, Kansas and Lucia Prieto and Joseph Ortega of Bakersfield; brothers, Armando and Teofilo and wife Gloria; sister, Ofelia Dominguez and husband Samuel; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home for Horacio Prieto, age 74, of Wasco, who passed away on February 28, 2012 in Delano. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1pm at St. John's Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. El Santo Rosario fue recitado el Viernes, 2 de marzo, 2012 a las 6pm en Capilla de la Casa Funeraria Peters para Horacio Prieto de 74 años, de Wasco, falleció el 28 de febrero, 2012 en Delano. Misa de Entierro Cristiano se celebro el sábado 3 de marzo, 2012 a la 1pm en la Iglesia Católica de San Juan.
