Hilda Catherine Holtermann was born December 7, 1919 in Freeburg, Missouri to Mary (Meyers) and John Schmitz, one of nine children. When she was 17 years old the family moved to Wasco. Hilda married Alphons Holtermann February 1, 1938 at St. John's Church. Hilda served her family as a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and crafts. However, floral design was her passion, she used flowers from her garden to enjoy and share with family and also loved drying flowers to use in arrangements. She was a member of St. John's Society, Women's Club and several bridge clubs. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Alphons, who passed away in 1998; three children, Patricia Riley in 1994, Phillip in 1968 and Paul in 1959. She is survived by her children; Eugene Holtermann, Richard Holtermann , Ginger Kreger, Mary and husband Dennis Allen, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Rosary and Mass will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1 pm St. Johns Catholic Church for Hilda Catherine Holtermann, age 90, of Wasco, who passed away, April 13, 2010 in Wasco. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm at Peters Funeral Home.
