Hilda Gonzalez was born October 5, 1963 to Hector Gonzalez and Felipa Lopez in San Benito, Texas. At a young age, her family moved to Bakersfield, California. Hilda attended the local schools and was a High School graduate. She went on pursuing a career in education. She became an Instructional Aide and was in the education field for more than 25 years. Hilda was loved by all who knew her. She had many friends and family that cared for her. Hilda had a close bond with her two sisters. After her short battle with cancer, Hilda passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones on June 28, 2015. Hilda is survived by her mother Felipa Gonzalez; son Jessie Portillo; daughter, Isabell Portillo; brothers, Daniel Gonzalez and Hector Gonzalez; sisters Elsa Portillo and Sylvia Gonzalez; numerous family, friends and loved ones. Hilda will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Visitation will be held at the Arvin Funeral Home Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5-9. A church service will be held at St. Augustine's church in Lamont on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10am followed by a burial at South Kern Cemetery District.
