Herminia Cirilo Rios, a 70-year resident of California and 17-year resident of Yucca Valley, died at home July 6, 2011. She was 95 years old. The daughter of Constancio Cirilo and Guadalupe Guerra, she was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Yorktown, Texas. She was the eldest of 13 children. Mrs. Rios was a homemaker and a business office manager who worked at Los Angeles County Hospital for 16 years before retirement. A quilter and seamstress, she made over 150 quilts in her lifetime. She was married to Refugio Rios Sr. for 65 years; he preceded her in death 11 years ago. Mrs. Rios is survived by son Noel Rios of Heber, Utah; daughter Elida Carpenter of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter Linda Aaberg of Laguna Hills, CA; son Refugio Rios Jr. of Desert Hot Springs, CA; son Daniel Rios of Tucson, AZ.; daughter Elizabeth Crabb of Las Cruces, NM, son Arthur Rios of Yucca Valley, CA, and son Richard Rios of Downey, CA; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rios was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She was an example of christian faith to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
