She was an ever-present volunteer for school and extra-curricular activities of her kids. For many years, Helen was a source of inspiration to students atthe Teen Challenge Men's Ranch, cutting hair and doing seamstress work for the men. She was a member of the women's auxiliary for the Shafter Fire Department. Helen enjoyed many years serving as a Deaconess at the Congregational Bible Church of Shafter alongsidemany longtime friends. She greatly enjoyed the many years spend attending the ladies Bible study on Thursday mornings until her health didn't allow it. Helen enjoyedtravelling with Jerry on many adventures including cruises, trips to the central coast and visiting family. Since losing Jerry in 2011, Helen's poor physical health began toprevent her from taking part in many of the activities she enjoyed. In spite of this fact, she loved her family well. She continued strong in her walk with the Lord and was a guiding light and inspiration to those close to her. Helen will be greatly missed by all.
