Helen Hampton February 4, 1924 - April 11, 2010 Helen Hampton was born on February 4, 1924, and passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 11, 2010, in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 86. She will be greatly missed by her children Brenda Freaney and Phillip Howard; her grandchildren Megin Freaney, Erin Rodriguez, Katie and Jonathan Howard; her great-grandsons Adrian and Julian Rodriquez. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Mattie Carroll, brother Lawis Carroll, sisters Lowlya Hutson, Leona Emmersen, Hazel Moore, Haley Carroll, and Mattie Bryant, Helen was born in Milfay, Oklahoma, and moved to Wasco as a young woman. She married Jimmie Phillip Howard in 1946 and became a widow when he died in 1964. She married Clarence Hampton in 1965 and divorced in 2002. Helen worked for many local businesses during her life including Wasco Family Pharmacy. Helen's greatest delights were her family, her children and her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was a creative, intelligent woman who enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting, and keeping her church's scrapbook. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Chapel Service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10 am at Peters Funeral home in Wasco, Pastor Joseph Cardamone will officiate and interment will follow. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 2-8 pm at Peter Funeral Home.
