Hazel Marie Willard was born April 24, 1938 to Virgil and Arlin (Buttress) Wiedower in Wasco, California. She grew up in Wasco and attended Wasco elementary schools and graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1956. She married Blaine Willard December 23, 1960 and they made Buttonwillow their home. Hazel worked for 23 years as a rural route mail carrier. Hazel loved to gamble, State Line and the Indians in Lemoore were her favorites. It was always somebody's birthday which in her thoughts called for a trip to the Indians. Hazel truly appreciated family and knew to cherish it. She loved her grandkids the best, she was so proud of all four of them. Hazel will be missed by all her family, her many friends and all her family on her route. Hazel will finally join her beloved son, Shane who preceded her in death December 20, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Velma Webb and brother, Hershel Wiedower. Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Blaine Willard; daughter, Cindy Banducci and husband Rodney, all of Buttonwillow; grandchildren, Kayla Banducci, Shane Willard, Jr., Brandon Willard and Austin Banducci. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 1pm at New Life Fellowship in Buttonwillow for Hazel Marie Willard, age 69, of Buttonwillow who passed away at home on February 28, 2008. Pastor Mike Nichols will officiate the service and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, March 3, from 4pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
