IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hazel Marie
Moore
December 23, 1919 – October 12, 2008
On Sunday, October 12, 2008, Hazel Marie Moore passed from this life to meet her Lord and Savior. Hazel was born to Marion and Mattie Carroll on December 23, 1919, in Ringling, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Creek County when she was very young and she was raised in the Depew area. Here, she met her future husband, Orval Moore. They were married at the county court house in Bristow, Oklahoma, on October 16, 1937. They started a life together that would last for 66 years. Shortly after their marriage, they left Oklahoma for a new life in California. Eventually, they returned to Oklahoma but finally settled back in Wasco area in 1942 where they raised their family. Hazel's life was devoted to her husband, her children and her church. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Wasco. She was an excellent seamstress and created fantastic wardrobes for her daughters. The love and care she gave her children was extended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved gardening and spent a lot of time in her yard, tending to her flowers and feeding the birds. Unable to live alone any longer she moved to Carrington of Shafter in December 2007. We send a special thank you to the staff there for the wonderful care and support they gave to her. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Janice Garland and husband Gilbert; daughter, Marjorie Frost; daughter-in-law, Frankie Moore; sister Helen Hampton; grandchildren, Michael Moore, Julie Moore, Jeff Garland, Lori Garland, Debbie Mehlberg, Jerry Frost, Robert Frost, and Daniel Frost; and 19 great-grandchildren. She recently received news that her first great great grandchild will be arriving in June. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; son, Robert; son-in-law, Larry Frost; brother, Lawis Carroll; and sisters, twin Haley Lee Carroll and Lowlya Hutson; Leona Emmersen and Mattie Bryan. Visitation for Hazel will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel from 2-8pm. Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 17, 2008 at 10am at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jim Wheeler will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Mom you will be in our hearts forever.
