Hattie was born to Charlie and Edna Lloyd on May 10, 1930 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Hattie had a brother named Charles and two sisters; Lorene & Liz. She had the best childhood a young girl could ask for during the Great Depression. Hattie had to help with the family to make ends meet. As she grew into a young woman, she met the most wonderful man, Ben Lankford. From that moment her life would change forever. In 1948, Ben & Hattie moved from Oklahoma to Shafter, California. They had nine children from 1948- 1963; Judy Rubio, Beverly Brown, Benny Lankford, Betty Rice, Billy Lankford, Vickie Thornbury, Jackie Lankford, Ricky Lankford and Roy Lankford. A few things Hattie enjoyed was fishing, canning, quilting, crocheting, helping people, and most of all; shopping and going out to eat with her sister Lorene. Hattie loved her grandkids. She made blankets and stockings for each of them. Throughout the years, Hattie was proud to say she had 35 grandkids, 71 great grandkids, and 42 great- great grandkids. Hattie has went to be with our Lord on April 19, 2016 and is preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, sister (Liz), husband and son Roy, just to mention a few. A graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Jim Neal on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2pm at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5-8pm at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, California.
