Gwendolyn Kay Salyards was born May 4, 1952 in Risco, Missouri to Ellis and Alma Poe. Gwendolyn attended Wasco High and Bakersfield College and later received her Registered Nurse Degree. She worked at Beverly Manor and Glenwood Gardens. Some of her hobbies consisted of spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, playing video poker and traveling with friends. She will be dearly missed. Gwendolyn passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 in Bakersfield, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Alma Poe; Husband, David W. Salyards; Siblings, Dale and Larry Poe, Steven Southern and Bonnie Clark She is survived by her Sons David and Joshua Salyards; Grandchildren, Dylan, Katie and Violet; Great Grandchildren, Ronen and Deegon; Brothers, Jimmy, Don and Randy Poe; Niece and Friend, Peggy Poe; Life Long Friend, Linda (Bozarth) Ericsson; Beloved friend, Sandra Bottoms and many nieces and nephews who cared for her deeply. A reception will follow at Wasco Elks Lodge.
