Gwendolyn Jane Cook was born on July 7, 1944 in Shafter, CA. She was a lifelong resident of Shafter, enjoying the company of her friends at Kern Regional Center and at work with Community Support Options (C.S.O.) Jane could always be found with a smile on her face. She was a sweet soul who loved the Lord with all her heart. In the after life Jane will be reunited with the love of her life, Glenn D. Cook, who she married April 4, 1968. She will also join her beloved parents, Joe and Margaret Brooks and her older sister, Earlene Brooks in Gods Kingdom. She is survived by siblings, Richard David Brooks, Doris Alvarez, Allen Louis Brooks and her sidekick, Sherry Lynn Brooks and many other loved ones. Jane's family wishes to thank the staff and clients at Kern Regional Center and Community Support Options for being there as a source of support for Jane throughout her adult years. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Denise, Jane's caretaker, for all of her love, support and hard work. Visitation is Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter. Funeral Service is Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10am at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter.
