Guadalupe S. Tovar was born June 29, to Jose Angel and Saturnina (Perales) Saldana in Chihuahua, Mexico. Guadalupe attendended school in Wasco, California. Guadalupe married in 1962 to her husband of 46 years Gregory Tovar. Gregory and Guadalupe celebrated their 25 year anniversary in Wasco. Guadalupe worked as a teacher's aid for pre-school. She enjoyed cooking meatloaf and baking carrot cake and cheesecake. Guadalupe was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church for many years. Guadalupe leaves bend husband Gregory Tovar; sons, Gregory and wife Brenda Tovar, Eric Tovar; daughter, Lorraine Gutierrez and husband Jesus; brothers, Gilbert Saldana and Manuel Saldana; sisters, Mary Pallarez and husband Rudy, Ruth Chavez; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with many other loving family members. Guadalupe is preceded in death by her parents Jose Angel and Saturnina (Perales) Saldana. Peters Funeral Home will be holding visitation for Guadalupe S. Tovar, age 64, who passed away April 27, 2008 in Delano, California., Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 2-8pm with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7pm in Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 10 am in St. Johns Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
