Obituary

Ms. Rosa was born in Agualeguas, Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She had lived in the McFarland, Delano area since 1962 and settled in Wasco in 1976. She worked in agriculture for 46 years mostly for Armstrong Nursery and Bear Creek. She was married to Ramon Ramirez Pequeno and they had 13 children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and their favorites were her tamales, menudo, posole and mole. Lupe also enjoyed going to the casinos, but her passion was her garden where she took special care of her beloved roses. Lupe was always happy and loved to dance and go to parties, always singing to the end. Survivors include her companion of 34 years, Carlos Pacheco Gonzalez; four sons, Francisco R. Pequeño, Raul Pequeño, Martin Pequeño and Peter Leal; a nephew raised by her, Miguel Angel Rosa; seven daughters, Yolanda Pequeño Campos, Maria de Jesus Chavira, Lilia C. Garcia, San Juana Perez, Irma Patricia Salazar, Maria Helena Sheets, Esperanza Rosa Pequeño; one brother, Manuel Rosa of Lubbock Texas and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. One son, Raul; one daughter, Petra; and three brothers preceded her in death. Holy Rosary will be recited at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco, on Tuesday, July 8th at 6:00 pm., for Guadalupe Irma Rosa, age 77, of Wasco, who passed away July 3rd. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9th, at 10:00 am, at St. John's Church, Wasco. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Bakersfield Heart Hospital and Maryann with Optimal Hospice for the compassionate care of Lupe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 404 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301.
