IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory Scott
Estes
July 24, 1957 – June 26, 2014
With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our beloved dad, papa, brother, uncle and cousin due to complications from diabetes from which he suffered for many years. Scott was born July 24, 1957 in Wasco and lived in Shafter his entire life attending Richland School and graduating from Shafter High School Class of 1975. He had many interests from fishing, sports, working with wood and canning. The whole family got to enjoy his talents; be it a new piece of furniture, a refinished piece or a jar of his homemade jam. Above everything else his greatest pleasure was to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours coaching and cheering them on at any event they participated in. His youngest child Kendyl gave him so much pleasure the last four years as she played volleyball, basketball, softball and track at Shafter High recently graduating in May and now attending Porterville College to continue her sports. He loved his children and grandchildren beyond measure. He thought they all hung the moon which you could tell anytime he spoke of them. Those left to mourn him are sons, Tyler (Rita), Garrett (Bricia), Blake (Elyse) and daughter, Kendyl; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Noah, Logan, Shae and Vin. He also had one grandchild on the way which will be named Olivia. Also missing him are sister, Pam McElroy and husband William; brother, Michael Briggs and wife Nicole; nieces, Natalie Pimentel and husband Chris and their children Carissa, Shakira, Kaeleb and Christopher, and McKenzie Salazar and husband Daniel and their children Gracie, Patricia and Daniel who shared uncle Scott's birthday. He also had many friends to countless to name but he loved you all and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of you. Services will be held July 3rd at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter at 5:00 p.m. Following service we will carry on our family tradition to celebrate the 4th of July. (Something Scott would want us to do for the kid's) at his sister Pam's home in Shafter. Everyone is welcome. So bring you chair, fireworks and stories as we give the man we love so dearly the goodbye he deserves. Please feel free to wear your Dodger blue to his service. He was an avid fan.
