IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda Sue
Miller
August 19, 1959 – March 3, 2013
Glenda Sue Miller August 19, 1959 – March 3, 2013
Glenda Sue Miller was born August 19, 1959 and pasted to eternity peacefully surrounded by her family on March 3, 2013. She lost her brave fight with cancer and is pain free and at peace. Her family was and is her life; her biggest worry was not being able to help them anymore. She always had time for her mom, dad and sisters and brother. She has many nieces and nephews she loved spending time with. She loved everyone deeply. She has always been an animal lover, learning at an early age from her father and mother that all Gods' creatures need to be loved and respected. She was a volunteer at Delano animal shelter for years helping to establish their adoption program. She also contacted and worked with many animal rescue groups to get as many dogs and cats out alive as she could. She cared for the sick and injured dogs and cats many times getting them vet care at her own expense. She also cleaned a lot of kennels when needed. She was voted Woman of the Year for Delano in 2009 for her dedication to helping the homeless and unwanted animals of Delano. She wanted everyone to take care of their families, their pets and animals and to always spay and neuter your animals.
Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years David Miller; son Robert Millerand wife Kim; grandchildren Nicholas and Robert Jr.; mother Frances Lou Davison; brother and wife Tommy Joe and Kathy Davison; sisters Mary Lou Ewing, Connie Crowley, Jean McCoy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father JD Davison.
Special thank you to her mother, sisters and brother, nieces and nephews for surrounding her with love the last few months, spending countless hours helping care for her; they were there whenever needed. A very special thank you to Tanya Howton and Justin Hester, for being there whenever called. And also a very special thank you to David Dowdy of Healing Hands~Healing Hearts. He is an amazing touch therapist and brought Glenda much pleasure and many smiles in the last three weeks of her life. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to his 501c nonprofit group so he can continue to help other people in need; the address is PO Box 1865, Bakersfield, CA 93303. He does have a great heart and helps countless people in pain.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 8, 2013 at Peters Funeral Home, 844 E. Lerdo Hwy, Shafter.
