Gilbert Sanchez was born August 15, 1988 in Bakersfield, California to Raul and Lupe (Martinez) Sanchez. Gilbert was currently going to college and was a graduate of Arvin High School. He enjoyed music, sports and being with his family. Gilbert is survived by his father, Raul; brother, Gabriel; and his grandmother Eva Martinez, along with his aunts and uncles. A funeral service was held at the Arvin Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11am for Gilbert A. Sanchez, age 20, who passed away April 6, 2009 in Bakersfield. Pastor David Pena officiated the service which was followed by interment at South Kern Cemetery, Arvin. Visitation was held Thursday, April 9, at Arvin Funeral Home.
