Gerald D. Kendig was born in Van Buren, Arkansas on May 25, 1934 to Florence (Pitchford) and Clyde Kendig; one of eight siblings. Gerald attended the local Wasco Schools graduating from Wasco High School in 1952. Upon returning from military service, Gerald met and married Madeline Perales. Together they had their son Brett. He was employed with Tops Market for thirty plus years. Gerald could be found at many sporting events, especially baseball, his favorite. Madeline became ill with Multiple Sclerosis and Gerald cared for her until her death.. Gerald was a proud Army Veteran, who served protecting our country from 1956 to 1958. He was a loyal husband, father and grandfather, and his family will miss him immensely. Gerald D. Kendig was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline in 2000; brothers Euel, L.C., and Jimmy; sister Sue Mootry and is survived by his son Brett his wife Dena and his two grandchildren Hayley and Kassidy; brother Don Kendig, sisters Jewel Trent of Arkansas, Pat Sempel of Bakersfield and Margie Russo of Oakley, California, and his dear friend, Mildred Cathey of Wasco. Pastor Terry Ruddell of Family Life Worship Center, Mc Farland, will officiate a Graveside Service for Gerald D. Kendig, age 76, of Wasco, Tuesday November 16, 2010 – 11:00am. Visitation will be on Monday November 15, 2010 from 5 to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home
