George C. Winder, 58-year resident of California and six-year resident of Yucca Valley, died Jan. 31, 2009, due to a stroke. He was 76 years old. The son of George C. Winder and Florence Murphy Winder, he was born in Canada Aug. 22, 1932. Mr. Winder served in the Marines, then worked as a machinist for Boeing for 43 years before he retired. He is survived by son John Robert Winder, daughter-in-law Margaret Ann Winder, granddaughter Karma Ladner and grandson John R. Winder Jr., all of Colorado; sister and brother-in-law Reta and Pete Radix of Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
