On April 12, 1988 the world was given a wonderful and beautiful gift by the name of Gene Cat Roberts. He was born in Loma Linda, California to Eugene Roberts and Dorothy Johnson. Gene was blessed with a second mother in his life as well, Lilia Roberts, who loved and cared for him as her own. Through a life of difficulties, Gene touched the heart of many and showed others how to live in love simply by his presence. Gene had a smile that was unforgettable and he loved to laugh as he did so often. He loved other children and had an indescribable love of music, especially the Rap genre. Gene also loved his toys, particularly the ones of the Robot type. On May 11, 2013 Gene passed away peacefully at home with loved ones at his side. He was preceded in death by his uncle George Roberts some time ago. He is survived by his Father and step mother Eugene and Lilia Roberts of Yucca Valley, CA; mother Dorothy Johnson of Cleveland, MS; brother Akili (Alize) Roberts of Rubideaux, CA; his sister Nakki Roberts of Cleveland, MS; uncle Willis (Beatrice) Roberts of Rubideaux, CA; uncle Gary Roberts and family of Illinois; uncle Harold (Esther) Roberts of Indio, CA; aunt Varre Royston of Los Angeles, CA; aunt Bertha Davis of Texas; nephews Akili Roberts Jr, Charles Roberts, Aki Roberts, and Akari Roberts all of Yucca Valley, CA; niece Selena Roberts of Desert Hot Springs, CA; nieces Kala Roberts and Akira Roberts of Yucca Valley, CA; nephews Tori Garcia and Diego Guzman of Cleveland, MS; nieces Brittney Guzman and Brandy Guzman of Cleveland, MS; cousin Darron (Becky) Roberts of Hemet, CA; cousins Duane (Taray) Roberts, Brittney Roberts, Duane Roberts Jr, Daphne Royston, and Theresa Royston all of Los Angeles, CA; cousin Cherelle Collins of LaQuinta, CA; cousin Jamous Roberts of San Diego, CA; and cousin Vida Maurey of Pomona, CA. He also leaves behind a host of other friends and loved ones. Gene was a beautiful and bright light that shined in this world and will continue to shine in the hearts of those he left behind. He will be dearly missed. Services have been entrusted to the care of Wiefels Funeral Directors in Yucca Valley. A funeral service will be held starting at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Yucca Valley.
