IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Garrett Richard
Mozingo
September 1, 1991 – October 19, 2015
Garrett Richard Mozingo was born in Bakersfield, California on September 1, 1991 to Janice and Richard Mozingo. Garrett grew up in Wasco and those closest to him remember him as a fun-loving and happy child. He was on the wrestling team for a number of years, and also had fond memories of frequent camping trips with his family. Garrett attended local schools and in 2009 he graduated from Wasco Union High School. In high school Garrett was on the Golf and Tennis teams, he also loved spending time 4 wheeling with his buddies at the creek. Garrett enjoyed working as a mechanic, and has been employed at Halliburton for the last 4 years, but even when he wasn't on the clock he spent a lot of his time working on his own toys. He sure was proud of his Harley and he rode it often. Garrett was a family man, even as he was growing up he would look forward to family functions and spending time with those closest to him. This last Spring Garrett married the love of his life; he and Ashley (Stahl) Mozingo were married on May 17, 2015 here in Wasco. His loving and happy spirit was naturally drawn to form a close bond with his step-daughter Norah as well; the two shared so much laughter together. He enjoyed playing with Norah or taking her on walks around the neighborhood. Garrett was an active member at Westside Family Fellowship, and he had great respect for his pastor who had taught him so much over the years, Pastor John Ross. Garrett was a very affectionate person, and his family will always remember him for the smile that was constantly on his face, the laughter that came from his mouth, and the happiness that poured from his spirit. He will be greatly missed. Garrett is survived by his wife, Ashley Mozingo; one daughter, Norah, and one child on the way; as well as his parents, Richard Mozingo & wife Ludy, and Janice & husband Terry Clement; grandparents, Eunice Jones, and Harmon & Eva Clement; his brother Matthew; step-sisters, Jillian Beene and Kristen & husband Mitchell Bozarth; and numerous aunts, uncles and very special nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.R. and Doris Mozingo, Harold Jones and Freda Clement. Garrett died in Bakersfield, California on October 19, 2015. A viewing will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco on Thursday, October 22, from 4-8pm. His memorial service will be held at Westside Family Fellowship on Friday, October 23 beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Wasco Relay for Life.
