Gabriela Soto was born in Wasco, CA on November 22nd, 1976, to Alba and Gabriel Soto. She is the third of 4 girls. She was raised on the rural farms of Belridge, CA which led to her immense love of all animals and the great outdoors. Gabby was never more herself than when she was trenching up a mountain on a spontaneous hike. She could proudly claim she conquered Mt. Whitney, Mt. Baldy and so many others in between. This great love for nature drove Gabby to receive her Bachelors in Biology and then to eventually become a Science teacher. As a teacher, she touched and inspired so many young lives with her dedication and love for her work. She loved teaching about plants and she especially loved to garden. Before her death she established a learning garden at the Independence High School in Wasco, which is where she last worked. The Garden is being renamed Gabbys Garden in her honor. Through her younger years Gabby was easily captivated and pulled away into some adventure by her passion for the outdoors, music, and all things Irish. Two years ago, as she got older, her passion shifted and the true love of Gabby's life became the amazing rainbow God cast upon her and her boyfriend Jamie in the form of a beautiful daughter, who she fittingly named Irel Gabriela. Her love for her daughter really pushed Gabby to be the best version of herself, which she presented to everyone and was truly reflected in her work and life. Her students loved and admired her, not only for her dedication, but for her sincere kindness and love for learning. Gabby was loved by many. Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter lit up any place she entered, and that smile and sincere soul reeled you in and never let you go. Gabby was 7 months pregnant at the time of her tragic death. She takes with her our angelic new born baby girl, Alba Elliott Soto-Jalving who will be buried cradled in her mothers arms. Gabby leaves behind many broken hearts, especially in her parents, Gabriel Soto and Alba Mora Soto; her ever loving sisters, Blanca Soto, Mara de Jess Soto-Garcia and Angelica Soto; along with her boyfriend, Jamie Jalving and their beautiful daughter Ireli Gabriela Soto-Jalving; 5 adoring Nieces and nephews, Erasmo Garcia Jr., Mateo and Lucas Ortiz, Samantha Garcia and Claris Garcia, one brother in law Erasmo Garcia; and her Godfather, Bonifacio Caballero, her Godbrother and three Godsisters. And many close and caring cousins, friends and extended family.
