Freida was born July 22, 1932 in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Wayne and Elsie Burrow. She passed away peacefully, November 27, 2017, at her home in Buttonwillow, California surrounded by her loving family. Freida came to California on a train at the age of four. Her mother brought the family to meet dad, who was already living and working in California. She worked for the US Postal Service for 32 years, acting as Postmaster for the final 10 years of her career. Freida loved her Lord and Savior and her Church; she was a true Prayer Warrior. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping and getting her nails done, as well as, the time spent working with the seniors at the Senior Sack program in Buttonwillow. One of her greatest joys in life was being near her grandkids and grand dogs. Freida is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Stanley Martin; son, Tim Martin; daughter, Linda Hanshew; sisters, Virginia Hearron and Sue Quary; grandchildren, Steven Hanshew, Andrea Hanshew, Jessica and (Dalton) Botts and Laura Martin; and great grandchildren, Seth and Heaven. She is predeceased by her sister, Marlene Gee; brothers in law, Claude Gee, Jimmie Quary and Milam Hearron. Freida passed at her home in Buttonwillow on November 27, 2017. Visitation will be held at Petrers Funeral Home in Shafter, on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be held the Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:30am, interment to follow at 1:15pm at Bakersfield National Cemetery.
