A celebration of life for Fred L. Blood Jr. will be held at 1 p.m. April 4, 2009, at the family home in Joshua Tree. A 34-year resident of California and a 15-year resident of Joshua Tree, Mr. Blood died of heart failure March 3, 2009, at Hi-Desert Medical Center. He was 68 years old. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he was born July 2, 1940, to Fred L. Blood Sr. and Charlotte (Beale) Blood. He was a caregiver for Angel View Crippled Children for eight years before he retired. Mr. Blood was preceded in death by his mother, father and daughter Christy Hammet. He is survived by his wife of eight years, Joann Blood of Joshua Tree, daughter Dawnete Harris of Riverside, son Fred Blood III of Torrance, daughter Cynthia Wilson of Lake Elsinore, granddaughters Mariah Hammett of Riverside and Dominique Wilson of Lake Elsinore, grandsons Dennis Wilson and Dakota Wilson, both of Lake Elsinore, and Fred Blood V of Torrance and sister Dorothy Kordalski of Palm, Pa.
