These values shone brightly as he grew into a fine young man, graduating from Shafter High School and later earning a degree in accounting from Bakersfield College. For 27 years, Franklin worked diligently at West Kern Machinery, where his integrity and dedication were as steadfast as the machines he tended. His colleagues knew him as a man of his word, a reliable and trusted associate whose presence brought both professionalism and warmth to the workplace.

Yet, it was not in the ledgers and accounts of his profession that Franklin's true passion lay, but in the hallowed halls of his church and the bustling life of his community.
