Frankie was born October 30, 1945 at Stroud, Oklahoma, to Howard William & Mary Melvina (Pitts) Holman. She was raised in the Shafter area where she met and married John Rhoades in 1962 and they had 3 sons. Frankie spent her time tending to her family and you could find her out early in the mornings attending yard sales and gardening. She enjoyed reading novels watching mystery shows and especially her favorite character "Spock" in Star Trek. Frankie passed away September 23, 2014 in Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her mother Melvina Holman; father Howard Holman; baby sister Rita Nadine Holman; and daughter-in-law Laura Anne Smith. Frankie is survived by her husband, of over 50 years, John Rhoades; sons, Larry, and Gary of Lancaster, California and James, of Bakersfield, California; granddaughters, Danielle and Jamie Rhoades; grandsons Nicholas Rhoades; brothers, Jack Holman (Lavina) of Shafter, California and Steve Holman (Betty) of Shawnee, Oklahoma.; sisters Lydia Hawthorne (Royce), Lenora Maynard and Brenda Alexander (Vern) of Bakersfield, California; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Frankie was held on Friday September 26, 2014 at 12pm at the Home Fellowship Church in Shafter, California. Family visitation and viewing was held on Friday September the 26, 2014 at 10am at the Home Fellowship Church.
