Obituary

Frank Leslie Watkins was born March 29, 1927, in Fresno, California, and resided most of his life in Arvin, California. Frank passed away May 11, 2011, at 11:45 pm in San Bernardino, California, at 84 years of age. Frank will forever be remembered by his beautiful and loving wife Irene Watkins, whom he married on July 7, 1949, ("and had been working on ever since") while also making a lasting impression on his two sons, Bruce and Carl; grand- children, Cybil, Clint, Phillip, Ryan, Samantha, Devin and Erick; and great grandchildren, Russell, Piper and Logan. He was remembered well at his 50th class reunion at East Bakersfield High (Class of 1945). After graduating from Bakersfield Community College, went on to U.C.L.A. and became a "Bookkeeper", then opened his own practice. Dad/Grandpa served in the Navy from October, 1944, to July, 1946, with rating 3rd Class Quartermaster. He was stationed in Philippine Islands; Tubabao and Subic Bay, Luzon; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; also served tours on four ships. Frank was every part of the definition of a Gentleman, Christian, Scholar, Faithful, Loving and Honest Man. There is nothing that he wouldn't do for his family, friends or even a stranger in need. The list of accomplishments is so long to mention, it would take a book to include them all. It is because of this Great Man, that has touched and changed our lives in so many positive ways that we gathered on May 13, 2011, 1pm, at the Arvin Cemetery to celebrate his life.
